2 miles this morning

yikes. I didn't wake up until 6:30 a.m.! That is too late for me to run and get to work on time. So I 'kind of' ran, and I 'kind of' got to work on time... not really.

My garmin was totally dead when I got outside and tried to turn it on. I absolutely hate that little cradle on which it charges. If I even bump my desk, the garmin seems to dislodge from it and then becomes totally dead without me knowing it. So I ran by my nike + iPod - which I know is incorrect by about 20%. It said I ran 2.60 miles... let's see... that would be 2.08 miles in reality based mileage.... and it took 30 minutes... oh my Goodness. Fuhgeddaboudit.

I am SO not ready for my half-marathon. There is no way to make up for it now. I just have to show up and be as slow as I am. I am 99.9% certain I can finish it, I just won't finish even moderately fast or slightly pretty. Like walkers will be ahead of me. Oh well.

if, when you get to the finish line, you see those walkers that walk with their elbows out, you can try to knock one over and get a picture! pretty, please...that was mean, I know, but they take up so much space at 5Ks...

Bah, who cares... Have fun. Jess recently ran a half after having an infection that week and she PRed. Who knows what will happen race day. Either way, Carpe diem :-)

I really and truly believe that it is better to go in under trained then over (within reason of course). Like Wes said, who knows what can happen.

I agree with Lisa (and I think Chad also said it on your blog before) better to be under trained then over! You'll be FINE!!! ;D ;D

SHOWING UP ROCKS!!!

Who cares where you finish? I don't care. Most of the folks who read and comment on your blog don't care. Your family doesn't care.

We love you and are proud of you for doing it. END OF STORY. :)

You are SO INTO taper madness!! All the self-doubt is there, the crazy thoughts, the nutso questioning! Looks to me like you are perfectly trained, mary gee!!!!

Keep enjoying yourself, the race will take care of itself. You rock!!!

Mary don't fret so, you will do good with your marathon.

You had asked where in CO I am, actually I'm up in Wyoming at the moment. I will be back in Greeley tomorrow afternoon and then I fly back to Oklahoma on Friday morning. This trip I don't get to Denver at all, except out to the airport.

Are you doing the Denver half on 10/14? You'll do fine!

I can't quit the garmin. I did a 17 miler once without it (or any other distraction) and I was so lazy.

I have the older Forerunner 201 and the charger is fine except the AC power cord always falls out. I've tried duct tape but that gets in the way...

Dont worry about your time for craps sake. Look at all those other blokes that will be sitting on their couches.

At least you got out there and did two miles. It would have been really easy to just say "forget it" and done nothing.

If you are not prepared to race it, just turn it into a supported training run and do what you can.

It's all good.
