socks and 8 miles

Ok, so this is a sock I am knitting.  It is so pretty that several people have decided that these are their Christmas present from me... but the news for them just might be that I decide to keep these for myself!  I haven't kept a pair of socks for myself for years, and there is absolutely nothing like hand knit socks.

I did manage to run 8 miles today.  I did not enjoy it.  I might have mapped out a course that was too hard. Or maybe I am just fried on running.  I kept thinking that I should just sit on my sofa and eat whatever the hell I want.  I should get fat.  I should cut my beautiful, stylish, hair with blonde highlights and red lowlights and let the gray come in, on my short hair.

I feel like throwing in the towel.  This is too hard.

Maybe a touch of depression?  Maybe.

I will keep running, and keep my hair.  I will not sit on the sofa and eat.  But today I would really like to.

Thanks for listening to me.

Pretty socks. I wish I knew how to knit! I would make myself a scarf. :-)

Hang in there! This is a hard time of year to stay motivated to run.

Sounds like you had an attack of the nasty "don't do it" monster!

Keep positive, and think of the the finish line and sense of achievement and WOW!

I wouldn't throw in the towel yet. Your hair needs you!!! :-) Just remember why you run. No need to push yourself past the point of fun...

For one thing you've come to far to give it all up now.
For another we all know you can do it, so we will be looking for a positive change.
For yet another you would so hate yourself for vegetating too long on the couch, then you would just be starting all over again on the running and cycling.
Take a deep breath, think one day at a time, one step...one mile, one meal, I can get thru all of this because I am the greatest.
Lastly, go check that person out in your bathroom or hallway mirror, they need a smile from you, trust me on this...because if you will just offer them a quick smile, I can guarantee they will smile back at you, it works that way, every time...it just does.
So all is not lost, we have all the faith in the world in YOU and know that YOU do too!!
Maybe I'll see you for the P.F. Chang race in January.

Go out and pamper your self, and keep the socks. I want a pair also. We need to get together for lunch or dinner when you are here for the PF Chang.
