Training Problems

(I am starting my Christmas knitting - a pair of socks)
I ran my 2 times during this week... that was OK.  This morning I went out to run 8 miles and ran 3 instead.  I felt like crap.  My hip hurt.  My water bottle was leaking.  I forgot the receiver for my Nike + iPod.  I was not enjoying one second of the run and decided to bag it.

Here is my plan for this week.  I am going to run 3 miles on Tuesday morning.  I am going to run 3 miles on Thursday morning.  I am going to run 8 miles on Saturday morning.

I am going to switch back to long runs on Saturday.  On Sunday everyone expects me to make Sunday dinner.  And I really do enjoy that - unless, of course, I just finished my long run and I am at the grocery store trying to figure out what I can cook quickly.  That is not my idea of fun.  I had a house full of family this morning when I took off to run and it just felt wrong to me.

But I must get my long runs in... next week.  I commit to this.

I flip flopped my long runs (from Sat to Sun) during training as well. Whatever works is what I say ;-)

I switched my long runs from Sun to Sat also. And it's helped out quite a bit, actually.

You gotta adjust the schedule to suit your needs. best of luck with the change next week!

I hear you on the long runs...we (Bonnie and I) decided that I might be better flipping my long runs to Sunday mornings...that way when I run really long I can do the carb loading on Saturday that seems to work for me "after" our Weight Watcher Weigh-in....we'll see how that works....

Hope your hip gets to feeling better soon...

I just noticed your counter for the P.F. Chang..are you registered? I'm contemplating running it but haven't registered yet....

At least you got 3 in. It sounds like the family should be cooking you dinner on Sundays. Otherwise, no socks for them. ;-)

Sounds like bagging it was the right thing to do!!

Love how the socks are coming along...what yarn is that? We all sometimes have long runs that don't go as planned - don't worry too much about it. and yes, we will definitely meet up for the PF Chang half! Bring your knitting! :)

You've gotta take care of you ... Hope to hear that flopping your runs to a new day helps!

I think that sometimes a higher source dictates our runs. As for knitting socks I wear a size 10 (hint hint)
