90 Days

That's a warning about mountain lions. If there is one thing that REALLY scares me, it is mountain lions. I wasn't afraid today though since there were a million people on the mountain (well, I might be exaggerating slightly). It was fun to run up to the mountain, and then run on trails for a bit.

So, I have 90 days before my marathon. I followed my plan and had my hiccup week. I ran only 7 miles today. I made them hard miles, lots of crazy hills - and you know what? My overall time is no worse than what it is when I run around a lake at a park. But this way, I have extremes, some miles are really slow, and some miles are not so slow.

I am happy with my training. I still can't imagine that I am going to be able to run 26.2 miles in a short 90 days. How can that happen in such a short period of time?

There are challenges ahead in your training, but with confidence and resolve, you will break through the wall :-) Rock on!!

You are going to be able to do it!! Just take one step after another in your training and before you know it you will be ready!

Bit by bit. Don't think about the whole, just take each week as it comes and you'll see how it pieces together.

Most of the time with long distances, it's not your body that holds you back from completing it, it's your mind. You can't visualize it, so it seams impossible. Jess is right, you don't think about it as a whole. Just focus on something about the race you can control. Think about keeping your pace nice and conservative the first two miles. That is something you can control and it manageable. Once you are into the race at that point, the rest will take care of itself.

somehow, it happens - 90 days is a long time to build a base even though it doesn't look like a long time on paper. hope you've had some time to run this past week.
