Bikin' to work

I rode my bike to work today - and I took 7 minutes off my time!!!

The ride to work is 8.65 miles - 43:19 minutes
The ride from is 8.91 miles - 56:02 minutes

I think there is a difference because I work at a hospital and come in one door and leave by another, it COULD be .26 difference I suppose.

It was dang hot to ride up that big ol' hill at the end of my ride. By the time I pulled in front of my house, I was breathing so loud my neighbor could hear me! Oh well. It was a good ride.

Do you ever notice the different demographics on the bike trails? There are the jocks, turned out in their jersies and spandex. There are the recreational riders, in their shorts and tee-shirts, and doing stuff like stopping three abreast across the whole bike trail. Then there are what I call the "DUI guys" - guys going to work on their bikes, wearing work clothes with no helmets and looking angry. There is one particular demo that bugs me, but I will save that for another day... I am sure if I keep riding a lot, I will have to vent about this one.

Great job improving your time! I totally know what you mean about the demographic types. There is a group I refer to as trophy wives. Not very nice of me, eh? :>)

Nice job on your ride.

I ride to work wearing street clothes on the bottom, a tshirt (which I change), and a backpack on my back. And a helmet, of course.

Wonder what demographic to I fit in when I ride to work?? The confused group?!?!? LOL

I may bring an entire spare set of clothes and ride in wearing athletic wear (something to sweat i) tomorrow. It's been HOT

Hi Mary,
I'm back, had been away for work and didn't have time to blog, hope that never happens again. Thanks for checking in on me tho.

The skurge of riders/runners out here on the trails are the horses. They take up the entire trail, their riders could care less about anyone else and the leave their little piles of fun all over the place, too.

Great job with your rides.
