6 Days

I just took a 1 hour run. I am not even going to say how many miles this was. I may go buy the book "No Need for Speed" today. I am so freaking slow. It felt extremely hot even though it was only in the mid-seventies. I was out in the sun for an hour. I felt good, but I still can't believe how slow I am.

My triathlon is one week from today. This time next week it will be all over. I am looking forward to it. I am also looking forward to getting back to focusing on running and training for my next half-marathon in October.

I had company all weekend and feel like I ate like the last days of Rome. We went out for nearly all our meals and I have so many styrofoam containers of food in the fridge. They brought a bunch of peaches from western Colorado and I baked a pie yesterday, just in case the gluttony wasn't complete. Now I have half a pie sitting there mocking me. I think I will cut a slice to eat later today and freeze the rest. I feel very full of food. I need to get my nutrition on track this week so I am strong for my race!

On your long runs, how fast or slow you are is not an issue... I luv temptation! Especially when I can justify it and give in! LOL. For me, its not desert though :-)

An hour out in the sun running is brutal, irrelevant of pace. And, you were out there doing it, which is more than most people.

Pie sounds yummy...

I'm slow too. Today I felt okay even though I was going a snails pace. In fact, I was pleased with myself for doing it. And you should be pleased with yourself too. :)

Training runs Mary...training runs...run them slower at least by one or two minutes per mile than you would a race....I'm told that over and over...get the base mileage and the times will follow.

If it was anywhere but Denver I would say it might have been humid when you ran too.....

We eat out alot too and I've started being very concious of how much food I'm eating, since I can't control the portions that are served too much....will power has to kick in...and I do want to be closer to 200 than 220 when our marathon rolls round on Sept 16.

Good luck on your tri....
