Full Moon

My bike ride this morning was absolutely gorgeous! The full moon was setting as the sun was rising. You must need to be a pretty good photographer to do justice to the moon, because for all the times I have tried to take photos of the beautiful moon, all I get are photos with a little pale dot in the middle!

I don't think I am going to be able to crack 2 hours for the tri. I have 4 days until the triathlon and I am certain I am not going to improve my fitness in those 4 days. Today it took 59:45 to ride 12 miles.... of course, that includes time crossing a highway (X2) and stopping at redlights. Last year in the tri, my bike time was 46:44. I think the only thing I am likely to improve this year are my transition times. We shall see.

No matter what, I will enjoy the event and all that goes with it.

Yesterday I called the folks at Skirtsports - they are supplying the race shirts - to ask them what color the shirts are this year. I wanted to buy a hat to match, but I changed my mind when I found out the shirts are BLACK. I am happy they are not pink, but I don't want a black hat.

Mary you aren't alone, I have trouble photoing the moon too...just like I seem to have trouble getting my photo taken in something besides yellow....well you can always see me coming.

Go out and just do your best this weekend, what more can you ask for. You will do fine, just think of this as endurance training for the HM in October.

I can't believe you only have 4 more days to go!! You'll do great, no doubt!!

There isn't anything quite like a race to bring out our best. Give it your best shot. If sub-2 hours is in your destiny, it will happen. If not, the joy and celebration will be the same :-) You are tapering? Right?

I am following the Tri for the Cure published training schedule for this week. I think I should be OK.

Get some extra rest and you may surprise yourself how fast you go. Besides, focusing on transitions during a race is certainly a worthy goal and a great way to improve.

Good luck!

Above all, have fun!!

So what color hat are you going to get to go with the black jersey (yeah, I agree, black is not good for a hat...too hot)?
